Each year the Springfield Park District, Rees Carillon Society and The Carillon Belles, organize a week long festival. During the festival, world renowned carillonneurs travel to the United States to play the Thomas Rees Carillon. Concerts are held each evening except Wednesday. These concerts draw large crowds so bring a lawn chair or blanket. During each concert there is a large video screen which allows the audience to see the keyboard and follow the music. The festival culminates with one of the best firework displays in Central Illinois.
