  • This park is located on the north side of town, with 11th Street along its west side. Black Street along the north, and a dead-end street along the east side.
  • On the north side of town, this site has four baseball diamonds that are primarily used for league play.
  • A pavilion and restroom facilities are centrally located on the north side of the park. Parking is provided along the north side of the park.
  • This site originally was developed by the City of Springfield and transferred to the Park District as part of the merger with the city Recreation Department.
  • Lawless Park was previously known as 11th and Black for the streets it intersects.
  • On October 6, 2012 the Park officially became known as Lawless Park named after Springfield’s own David Lawless. He has been heavily involved in youth baseball over the years as a coach and leader serving on various boards. He was more about just baseball, as he wanted to instill important life qualities in young men to shape them to be outstanding citizens.
