Illinois Department of Agriculture to Stage Twilight Parade at Lincoln Park
[Springfield, IL] – The Springfield Park District is excited to announce that the Illinois Department of Agriculture will once again stage their Twilight Parade at Lincoln Park on Thursday, August 11, 2022.
The Springfield Park District would like to notify the public that State Fair Officials will be closing Lincoln Park to public access and parking starting at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2022. During this time, there will be no public parking available for parade viewing in Lincoln Park or the Nelson Center. Nelson Pool will also be closed to the public from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Nelson Pool and Nelson Ice Rink scheduled programming and openings will resume on Friday, August 12, 2022. Patrons of the Nelson Center will be able to access the Nelson Center using the intersection of Third Street and Black Avenue.
Beginning Friday, August 12, 2022, parking will be prohibited on neighborhood streets south of Sangamon Avenue. These changes will remain in effect until the morning of Monday, August 22, 2022.
The Springfield Park District and State Fair Officials encourage the community to share in the excitement and tradition by attending the Twilight Parade as the State Fair Officials kick off the ten day annual showcase of Illinois Agriculture and unique entertainment.
