SPRINGFIELD PARK DISTRICT TO HOST RIBBON CUTTING CELEBRATION FOR NEW AMENITIES AT ENOS AND GEHRMANN PARKS

[Springfield, IL] - The Springfield Park District is pleased to announce the upcoming ribbon cutting celebration to reveal improvement projects at Enos Park and Gehrmann Park on Wednesday, June 28th from Noon - 1:00 pm.
“The Springfield Park District is excited to accomplish needed improvement projects to these important Parks located in the heart of our community. We welcome the community to join us during this celebration.” – Leslie Sgro, Park Board President
During the celebration, the Park District will partner with the Springfield Art Association and the Enos Park Neighborhood Association to host kids’ games, activities, and FREE snow cones from Kona Ice. At 12:30 pm, the ribbon-cutting ceremony will commence where one or more members of the Park Board may be present.
New improvements at Enos Park feature: New improvements at Gehrmann Park feature:
-New Playground -ADA accessible asphalt walking paths
-New LED lights and poles -Playground expansion
-Bathroom upgrades -ADA water fountain
-Shelter repairs -Playground surface material
-ADA water fountain -New park entrance sign
-Playground surface material -Park lighting upgrade to LED lights
-Sight amenities package which includes -Sight amenities package which includes
trash receptacles, benches, picnic tables, grill trash receptacles, benches, picnic tables,
and bike rack grill and bike rack
Funding for these improvements was made available through an intergovernmental agreement between the Springfield Park District and the City of Springfield.
We invite you and your families to come out and participate in the ribbon-cutting celebration and try out the new park features on Wednesday, June 28th from Noon to 1:00 pm. We will have food, activities, and FUN!
