[Springfield, IL] – The Springfield Park District is pleased to present our third annual Cyclocross Race, PARCX2023!
Cyclocross PRCX2023
takes place Saturday, October 21st, from 10am to 2pm at Centennial Park.
What is cyclocross?
“Cyclo-” implies this is an activity that involves a bike. “-Cross” suggests that you are going to go a-cross terrain and obstacles. So, how is this different from commuting? Rather than going from point A to point B, you, the Cat 4/5 beginner, are going to race around a 1.5 -2 mile plastic tape-defined loop for about 30 minutes. Grass, dirt, a little pavement, sand, and mud are standard terrain. Those in more advanced categories (Cat 1-3) race for 45 or 60 minutes.
