The Springfield Park District is proud to celebrate two community favorites! Thanks to the support and votes of our community, Southwind Park was named Best Playground, and the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular was named Best Holiday Event in the Illinois Times Best of Springfield publication.
Southwind Park: A Place to Play, Explore and Connect
Southwind Park provides opportunities for individuals and families of all ages and abilities to enjoy the outdoors, spend time together, and connect with the community. Being recognized as the Best Playground is a wonderful reflection of the experiences Southwind Park provides and the importance of creating welcoming recreational spaces for everyone.
Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular: A Community Tradition
The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular brings the community together for a one-of-a-kind fall experience filled with creativity, carved pumpkins, and seasonal fun.
This event would not be possible without the incredible partnership of the Rees Carillon Society and the support and dedication of staff throughout the entire Springfield Park District. It takes a tremendous team effort to bring this community tradition to life each year.
