SECOND ANNUAL TEEN EMPOWERMENT ZONE COMES TO A CLOSE WITH A BACK TO SHOOL PARTY!
[Springfield, IL] – The Springfield Park District, the City of Springfield, Applying Pressure, and PCs for People are excited to partner with the Max-Out Foundation to bring to the Springfield community, the Max-Out Foundation’s fourth annual Back to School giveaway during the final Back to School themed event of the Teen Empowerment Zone.
“We have proudly completed another successful year of the Comer Cox Teen Empowerment Zone providing employment opportunities, on-the-job training programs, and more impactful community events. We are excited to have the opportunity to end this year’s program with a final celebration for the community,” said, Springfield Park District Executive Director, Derek Harms.
Mayor Jim Langfelder stated, “The City of Springfield is one of the proud partners on the Teen Empowerment Zone initiative. In collaboration with the Springfield Park District, this program provides greater awareness and access to opportunities to improve young people’s lives. This public-private partnership is yet another way we are helping the youth of our community build a strong foundation for a successful future.”
The fourth annual Max-Out Back to School giveaway will be on Tuesday, August 16th from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Comer Cox Park. During this amazing celebration, we will be giving away school supplies to students in Ward 2 and Ward 3. There will also be music, basketball, a bouncy house, and Fitness in the Park at the new Fitness Court. We invite the community to celebrate the ending of a successful summer.
