Learn to Skate with the Springfield Park District!
Ready to hit the ice? Our Learn to Skate Academy is the perfect place for kids to build confidence, balance, and skating skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Beginners start in Snowplow for ages 3-5 or Basic 1 for ages 6 and up. Beginning skaters do NOT need expensive equipment. In most cases, you can start by using skates from our rink or by borrowing a pair from a friend. Be sure to dress in warm and comfortable clothing. As you learn more, you will likely want to invest in your own skates and equipment.

Class Times:
• 10:45–11:15 AM – Basic 1-6 (Ages 6+)
• 11:20–11:50 AM – Snowplow 1–3 (Ages 3–5)
