SPRINGFIELD PARK DISTRICT ROLLS OUT UNPLUG ILLINOIS CAMPAIGN
Unplug Illinois Day is July 15, 2023

[Springfield, IL] – The Springfield Park District is pleased to announce that it will participate in Unplug Illinois Day Saturday, July 15, 2023.

Unplug Illinois is a statewide movement from the Illinois Park and Recreation Association designed to help people “unplug” from electronic devices – and plug in to active play opportunities at park and recreation agencies across Illinois.

Unplug Illinois promotes healthier lifestyles, sustainable environments, thriving economies, and engaged communities. The campaign also promotes the benefits of parks to make communities stronger.

The new Springfield Park District campaign features:
• FREE Pitch Hit and Run at Robin Roberts Stadium from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
• FREE admission to Public Skate at the Nelson Center from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm
• FREE admission to Public Swim at the Nelson Center Pool from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
• FREE admission to Public Swim at Veterans Memorial Pool from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
• FREE admissions to the Henson Robinson Zoo from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

The benefits of unplugging from technologies drive people to plug into the community, into activity, and into friends.

We hope to see you out in our parks this Saturday, July 15, 2023. One or more members of the Park Board may be present.
