Springfield Park District Police Department
The Springfield Park Police serve as the primary law enforcement agency responsible for all parks, trails, and facilities owned or operated by the Springfield Park District. As the trusted Park District Law Enforcement entity, the Illinois Park Police Department enforces state laws and Springfield Park District ordinances to preserve peace, protect life and property, and ensure park safety in Springfield, IL.
The Springfield Park Police include both full-time and part-time officers who have completed extensive training at Police Academies certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board, with over 400 hours of instruction. Officers regularly participate in continuing education and firearms qualification to maintain the highest standards.
