Prairie State Orchid Society Plant Sale and Talk

Description 

Be sure to mark your calendars for this fabulous orchid event! The Prairie State Orchid Society returns to the Garden for their fall plant sale from 10:00a to 4:00p. There will be an intermission from the sale between 2:00p and 3:00p, during which Dr. Lawrence Zettler will have a presentation on ongoing orchid conservation at the Chelsea Floral Show in London, where they received a gold medal. Dr. Zettler is the Hitchcock Professor of Biology at Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois, and is active in the orchid conservation throughout the world.

Central Illinois Daylily Society Plant Sale

Description

Region 9 American Iris Society Plant Sale

Description 

Did you miss the iris sale in July? Be sure to mark your calendars and come to the Garden to purchase beautiful iris varieties from the members of the Region 9 American Iris Society. Beautiful iris will be available for purchase and incredible knowledge will be shared from the iris society members. This is a great event to ask those iris questions.

Orchid Class

Description 

The Garden welcomes back Tom Gephart and Kent Well for a morning all about orchids. 

Do you have orchid questions/concerns? Did you receive an orchid as a gift and aren't sure what to do for it? Do you need your orchid repotted? Be sure to stop by and have your plant repotted at a nominal cost (fee is based on the size of the plant), learn how to care for your orchid, diseases and pests common with orchids and learn about basic orchid growing tips.

This class is designed with an open house setting so feel free to arrive at any time during the time frame

Kokedama Workshop

Description 

Kokedama is a Japanese art from that involves growing plants in a soil ball covered with moss and wrapped with string. They can be showcased on a flat surface or hung in a window. Come and learn all about this fun planting technique and construct your very own kokedama to take home.

Simmering Into Fall Workshop

Description
